Mumomega®

Supporting brain development* before, during and after pregnancy.

Mumomega®

There’s never been a more important time to help make sure your body is working at its best as when trying to conceive and during pregnancy. We all need to consume essential fatty acids, but research has shown that particular omega-3 essential fatty acids, such as DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are important during pregnancy as they contribute to normal development of the eye and brain of the foetus.* Maintaining adequate amounts of omega-3 fatty acids during the last trimester and during breastfeeding is particularly important as this when the brain’s growth is most rapid.

A daily intake of 200mg of DHA is required in addition to the daily recommended intake of 250mg of DHA and EPA for adults. Equazen Mumomega provides 300mg of DHA and 42mg of EPA daily.

While this dietary intake is achievable for many women, for those who are unable or unwilling to gain enough essential fatty acids from their diet, EQUAZEN mumomega is specifically formulated to be taken before, during and after pregnancy.

As with all our products, EQUAZEN mumomega contains naturally sourced high-grade marine and botanical oils to deliver the key omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, which have been concentrated and then reassembled into triglycerides.

Where the recommended intake of DHA is not met, a supplement could help to bridge the nutritional gap. We have also developed Equazen Baby for babies 6 months to 3 years.

Mumomega®: Key Ingredients

  • Omega-3 Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) from fish oil. The maternal intake of DHA contributes to normal development of the brain and eye of the foetus and breastfed infants.*  Particularly important during the third trimester of pregnancy and during the first two years of life, when the brain develops most rapidly
  • Omega-3 Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) is one of the fatty acids that makes up Omega-3 found in oily fish.
  • Omega-6 Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) from cold pressed evening primrose oil and metabolite Arachidonic Acid (AA),  ensures a synergistic and balanced formulation to meet the body’s individual needs.

Food for thought: Adding Mumomega early may support your babies’ essential fatty acids need and help support early brain development.

What makes Mumomega® different?

Mumomega contains only high-quality ingredients. Our oil comes from sustainable fish sources such as sardines and anchovies from the Southern Pacific and Morocco sea. These fish are known to have a naturally high level of DHA. One capsule of Mumomega daily throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding ensures recommended doses of DHA.
